From originals to SWING and JIVE numbers, this mini-album will make you want to sing along and dance! JIVE at FIVE” led by jazz vocalist Yuhi Deguchi, formed in 2018, features Makoto Ueno on tenor saxophone, who also performs with GentleForestJazzBand, Marie Takeda on piano, who is active in many fields including jazz and pops, and also performs with Chai-CheeSisters in their recordings. JIVEatFIVE features Marie Takeda on piano, who also performs with CheeSisters on their recordings; Nobuyuki Yano on bass, whose arco solo is reminiscent of Slam Stewart; and on drums, Atsuki Takizawa, a master of old-swing style and an endorser of A&F DRUM. This time, with special guest Satoshi Yoshihara, who is also a banjo player, on guitar, we aim for an at-home sound, gathering in one room and recording one shot with no monitor headphones or other equipment.” The band’s main focus is on swing and jive numbers that anyone can easily and happily dance to, with plenty of choruses by the band members.
