[Encore Press: Immortal Backhaus 1000] On June 28, 1969, five days after his last performance of Schubert’s Improvisation, the great evangelist and giant star of German music, Backhaus, was taken to heaven. This CD is the complete record of the concert held on the 28th and the day before, the 26th, in Ossiachen, Austria. That performance to the point of being painful! But his appearance of not losing his dignity until the last moment of his death deeply impressed the audience. And at the moment of his death, Backhaus became an eternal legend. As if he were Beethoven.
