Description
:
A romantic novel centered on Satoshi Makino, a guitar prodigy, and Yoko Komine, a reporter for a news agency, the novel fascinated readers with its complex intertwining of various themes, such as the anguish of 40s, slump, PTSD, war, life and death, father and son, teacher and student, and jealousy. A classical guitarist is the main character, and world-renowned guitarist Shinichi Fukuda advised Hirano from the conception stage. This is the second volume of the tie-in CD “At the End of the Matinee,” which features Fukuda’s performance of guitar pieces that appear throughout the novel. The first volume contains an original composition of the fictional film music “The Coins of Happiness,” which is the key to the story, faithfully following Hirano’s image of the music. In the second volume, you can listen to guitar pieces by artists other than Makino who appear in the story, starting with “Brahms: Interlude,” the piece that triggers the encounter between the main characters Makino and Yoko and that starts the story. Once again, the music has been selected under the supervision of Keiichiro Hirano, and the guitar performance by Shinichi Fukuda and Masako Hayashi, one of Japan’s leading opera singers, will further enhance the three-dimensional enjoyment of the original story.
