The band then toured Japan for the first time, where their performance was highly acclaimed by many audiences for their masterful use of intricate electronics and dynamic drumming. After the release of his second album, he has been busy playing shows all over the world, participating in jazz quartets, and remixing for many artists such as Hundred Waters, and has not released any new material. Intermission” is a six-song EP. I haven’t found a new step for myself yet. I’m still looking for it. As the title “Intermission” suggests, the EP is a snapshot of the “process” between his ideas and inspirations.Pulse” opens with a minimalist layered shift of percussive and polyrhythmic grooves, followed by “City Dweller,” an atmospheric and dazzling world of heavy drum machine knocks, jazzy electric pianos and reverberant kalimbas, and “Gently,” a floating ambient track with mysterious pads and pitch-shifting vocal loops. The track “City Dweller” creates an atmospheric, dizzying world of knocking, jazzy electrics, and rippling kalimbas, before moving into “Do My Thing,” a beat track with lyrical kalimbas and pitch-shifted vocal loops, and a floating ambient track “Gently,” with mysterious pads. The non-beat ambient track “Deep Breathing” was again followed by “Need Nobody,” which closed with a kalimba loop, a gentle keyboard melody, and percussive breakbeats. All of the songs have a brilliant Shigeto sound, but the eclectic mix of elements evokes a sense of exploration, excitement, and a dynamic sense of stylistic freedom. This is an important work, embedded with the energy of a band in the process of evolution.
