Includes the popular song “Under My Skin.” One of the best albums by the “God of Calypso” Sparrow, released in 1965, is back on vinyl! Includes the mellow and jazzy calypso classic “Under My Skin” (M-5), originally written by Cole Porter. Originally a jazz standard by Cole Porter, the slow and stylish horn arrangement was done by the famous arranger Bert Innis. The cover by the Detachments is impressive, with a miraculous ensemble that will stay in your ears forever. In addition, M-1 has a subtle hint of bossa, M-2 is the essence of a Caribbean number, M-6 is a bolero sung in Spanish, and M-7 was also performed on the 1974 album “Hot And Sweet,” produced by Van Dyke Parks. This album is a masterpiece without any price, a condensation of Sparrow’s various charms, which evokes a longing to reach the pinnacle of entertainers. Commentary: Makoto Wada
