Formed in 2015 by leading jazz/fusion musicians Makoto Kuriya (piano), Koichi Noh (acoustic bass), and Hiroyuki Noritake (drums), “Acoustic Weather Report,” aka “Weather Report,” began with the concept of rediscovering the appeal of the original “Weather Report” by rearranging the music of “Weather Report,” the pinnacle of 1970s fusion, on live instruments. The concept was to rediscover the charm of the original “Weather Report” by rearranging the music of the 1970s fusion masterpiece, “Weather Report,” with live instruments and a piano trio.
