Kenneth Layton was a 20th century English composer. Born in Yorkshire, he was active in the choir of the local Wakefield Cathedral, then studied piano and voice at the Royal Academy of Music and composition at the Oxford Conservatory, where he was remarkably active in the field of church music. This 3-CD set includes Leighton’s solo organ works, related works, and his only harpsichord works, including two world premiere recordings, all featuring the virtuoso Farr organ, with collaborators such as violinist Chloe Hanslip playing in breathtaking harmony.Naxos Japan
