Celebrating the 45th anniversary of his debut in 2014, Kiyoshi Shomura, one of Japan’s leading guitarists, has been performing more and more energetically. This time, he will be performing for the first time with the Lee Musici Ensemble, a string ensemble that has dominated the world with Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” for half a century and is immensely popular around the world for its fascinating string music ensembles. Kiyoshi Shomura and the Lee Mujichi Ensemble also performed together in Japan in October 2015. This album includes two concertos performed during their Japan tour. The second half of the album includes a solo guitar performance by Kiyoshi Shomura. In addition, an ensemble version of “One Day in November,” a masterpiece by Leo Brouwer, a Cuban-born composer who wrote many guitar pieces, is included, not as a regular solo guitar piece, but as an ensemble version with Lee Mujichi as an accompanist. The breathtakingly delicate performance by both artists is a must-hear. Recorded: October 14 and 15, 2015, Inagi Aiplaza, Tokyo
