This is one of the Melodiya label’s series focusing on “young artists”. The Pochekin brothers, who are the parents of violinists, have been performing as both soloists and duoists in Russia and around the world for the past 10 years. Although the combination of two violins (or a violin and viola) in an ensemble is quite rare, and there are not many works, the brothers are known for their harmonious playing, even though their personalities are always clashing with each other. Even in the works of the three composers on this album, their competing talents weave a thrilling and intimate sound.Naxos Japan
