All of Teruyuki Noda’s Japanese music works on this CD were written in the 20th century, and the three quartets are the core of Noda’s masterpieces here. The three quartets are Noda’s masterpieces, and although they are Japanese instruments, they do not sound like Japanese instruments. On the other hand, although the pieces are written in classical notation, you do not feel that they are written in classical notation.
