The art left by the founder and first chief conductor of the orchestra. Iserstedt & the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra’s masterful performance has been remastered and brought back to life! Brilliant and ethereal Bruckner that rang out before the Wand era! This is a reissue of the Tarra label’s masterpiece. The sound quality has been remastered and improved, and the sound has been reborn with a more brilliant and beautiful tone. Iserstedt served as the first chief conductor of the orchestra for 26 years from 1945, training it to become one of the world’s leading orchestras. The North German Radio Symphony Orchestra is best known for the Bruckner recordings made by Wandt, who served as chief conductor in the 1980s, but it is clear that the orchestra had already achieved great Bruckner performances even during Isserstedt’s time. The rich volume and warm tone of the strings, which Isserstedt described as “unique,” are more than fully demonstrated in this brilliant and ethereal world. The score is generally based on the Haas edition, but the conductor’s own interpretation has made some changes that are closer to the Novak version. The commentary includes a “self-portrait,” in which Iserstedt himself tells the story of his life. This is very interesting! The story of how Isserstedt, who was proud to be a Berliner, came to call Hamburg his “second home,” the story of the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, which he founded immediately after the war by visiting prisoner of war camps and gathering musicians from all over the country, and much more. The discography of the duo is also included. In No. 7, the strings are beautiful in the multi-layered melody of the second movement. The separation of the voices is excellent, and glorious songs can be heard from each of them. Moreover, the overall feel of the music is not compromised. The climax introduces cymbals and timpani, but the score is slightly different from the Novak version. The finale is a pleasant performance that is not too heavy and sometimes even fast. The sure steps toward the top with great width dynamics are powerful!King International
