This was the last recording made by Munroe three months before his death. This unique album contains a variety of recorder works from the 17th century by Dowland and Purcell, including the famous “Greensleeves,” to 20th century English composers. The melancholy sound of the recorder, which is full of nostalgia and warmth amidst a high classical tone, is superb. This is the world’s first CD release of the complete works. For this release, the masters stored at Abbey Road Studios were digitized at 96kHz/24bit at Abbey Road Studios. The master was further remastered at 24bit/96kHz by JVC Sugimoto Ikke, a renowned remastering craftsman for XRCD and ESOTERIC, for the long-awaited complete reissue.
