Born in the East Indies, the Anglo-Dutch composer Schulman has been based in the United States since 1981. Two of his chamber works have been released on the TOCCATA label and have been very popular. The third collection includes two piano quartets, his early work “Serenade” and his latest work “Two Violins”. Serenade” for solo violin is an ambitious work with a lyricism reminiscent of Britten. The lyricism is still present in the newest piece, and creates a mysterious beauty.Naxos Japan
