This is an album of 10 orchestral and concerto masterpieces by Handel, the greatest composer of the Baroque period along with the great Bach, performed on original instruments by Pinnock and English Concert. Music on the Water” is performed in Krzander’s version. Pinnock recently re-recorded “Music for the Royal Fireworks” in a “premiere version,” but this recording is based on the “re-performance” of the first recording. These performances, full of youthful exuberance and full of excitement, are truly Pinnock’s sole domain.
