Its over engineered Class AB circuit easily provides 2 x 40 watts to the high end gold plated terminals, giving huge freedom to the listener in the selection of a loudspeaker.
On sources side there is also huge flexibility: vinyl lovers can use a separate phonostage or order the Cayin CS-55A with the optional high end MM phono card pre-installed (available for an extra £250.00)
Want to use your computer as a source ? Then the CS-55A comes as standard with a USB 2.0 DAC that can play Hi-Res audio with up to 32bit / 384kHz.
This combination of high-end DAC and classic tube charm is a sublime combination.
The output stage can be switched between the triode and Ultra-linear operation, also a further switch allows the use of EL34- or KT88 tubes.
On top of that there is an external bias adjustment with meter.
A headphone amplifier is also included to allow very high performance for a even the most difficult to drive headphones.
Selected hand picked components such as the encapsulated Alps potentiometer and ceramic tube sockets round off the quality oozing from this amplifier.
A full aluminium remote control is also provided for the ultimate in convenience.
We very seldom use the moniker “Giant Killer”, but with the Cayin CS-55A KT88 it is adorned with thisfrom head to toe.
