Composer Bettinelli was born in Milan, Italy. Although he did not achieve the same level of recognition as Dallapiccola and Petrassi of the same age, he left behind numerous vocal works and seven symphonies and orchestral works with a unique tonal quality, based on his keen sensibilities nurtured in the “land of opera”. His chamber music works are also diverse, including string quartets, duets combining all kinds of instruments, and pieces for voice, and he was tireless in his exploration of the possibilities of the instruments. In particular, his compositions with the guitar are wonderful, and the whispering tone of the guitar in the “Lyric Duet for Voice and Guitar” on this album perfectly complements the words of the song.Naxos Japan
