Based in New York’s popular deep house label [Wolf+Lamb], he has shown his precocious talent since he was a teenager, and his debut album “Space Is Only Noise”, released in 2011 on France’s leading minimal house label [Circus Company], was one of the best albums of the year both at home and abroad. In 2011, the genius Nicolas Jarre released his debut album “Space Is Only Noise” on Circus Company, one of France’s leading minimal house labels, and it took him five years to release his highly anticipated second album! His talent for cinematic depictions of downtempo, house, and ambient music with a sensual sense of sensuality is further deepened on the opening track “KillingTime,” which features his own melancholy falsetto voice drifting over piano ambient. The next song, “TheGovernor,” showcases Elvis Presley-like vocals dancing to the howling NY punk sound, followed by the killer “No,” which sounds like Bechamp dubbed over the Police’s classic album “Synchronicity” in its entirety, and the emotional “History Lesson,” a modernized version of 50s doo-wop. The album also resonates with the epic mood of 2016 spun by Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, and James Blake, including the modernized and emotional closing track, “History Lesson”. The result is a crystallization of the beautiful avant-noir that only Nicholas Jah could have created. The Japanese CD includes a commentary and an additional bonus track.
