In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Charles Mingus’ birth, we are reissuing 8 titles on UHQCD, carefully selected from his masterpieces and rare recordings on CD for the first time in Japan! This work was released in 1961. This album is composed mainly of songs Mingus had composed before hearing Charlie Parker’s performance, and in particular, “Let’s Go on the A Train,” an arrangement that could be called a mash-up with “Expect Like You,” is a must-hear.
