The band’s fourth album, “Rust In Peace”, released in 1990, featured guitarist Marty Friedman and drummer Nick Menza, and is considered one of the best lineups in the history of Megadeth. The band’s seventh album, “Cryptic Writings,” was released in 1997 with this lineup and reached the No. 10 position on the U.S. album charts. The Chicago show on August 8 will be recorded and broadcast as a special program on Westwood One, a popular music FM station in Los Angeles, as part of the band’s upcoming world tour, “Cryptic Writings Tour. This CD release is based on the audio tape of the broadcast. The heavy metal sound produced by Mustaine’s solid guitar playing and Friedman’s melodic guitar playing is truly the heavy metal sound of Megadeth in its golden age.
