Description
:
[Seiji Ozawa served as the Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra for six years from 1970 to 1976 after serving as the Music Director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in Canada. This was a time when Ozawa was making a great leap forward internationally. The “From the New World” and other pieces were recorded with this orchestra, along with “Hero” for Philips, and Ozawa performs this masterpiece full of folkloric sentiments with his own supple musicality, refreshingly and enthusiastically. Rubidium clock cutting. [Performed by] San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Conductor: Seiji Ozawa Recording: May 1975, San Francisco
