This is the 4th album of Mako Hosoda, a multi-talented pianist mainly in the classical music field. Pianist Mako Hosoda and percussionist Rie Nakayama weave together a “world of percussion,” using two “percussion” instruments to create works ranging from piano pieces to brass band and orchestral pieces. The music expressed with the transparent sound of the fazioli and the diverse sounds and rhythms of percussion skillfully brings out new possibilities and charms in classical works. The recording is full of freshness and innovative approaches. This is a superb album, full of highlights.
