[The Art of Sir Georg Solti (1912-1997)] It has been 10 years since the death of the Hungarian-born conductor Sir Georg Solti, one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. This CD compiles the legacy of the master conductor, who left behind a large number of masterful recordings, including 40 Grammy Awards (the most in history, including popular music). This year’s release features all 40 of his masterpieces with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which he served as music director from 1969 to 1991 and created the world’s greatest orchestral sound.
